vmware 8.0 does not compile on kernel 2.6.41x64

Yesterday I decided to update to vmware workstation 8.0 on my fedora 15 x64, running kernel 2.6.41.

At first run, the app began compiling the required kernel modules. Unfortunately the process failed on compiling module vmnet.

After googling around I found an usefule solution on this forum thread

Look down to various posts and you'll see one with a downloadable vmnet.tar.

Download this patched module and place it /usr/lib/vmware/modules/source/ replacing the old one (BACKUP IT BEFORE!).

then re-start vmware and now it should compile.

IE developer tools no working or minimized

It might happen IE developer tools stop working (debugging the debugger....thanks micro$oft) or stays minimized.

Usually the solution is to remove the registry entry: HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\IEDevTools

at least this worked for me, with IE8 and Windows XP
